TicketedClosure day
The other side of the mountain: the Mingzhulou sub-area covers a third of the whole scenic area (8 km² of the north-west slopes from the West Gate on Baiyun Avenue east to the Dangxiong Pavilion on the ridge) and has none of the South Gate's traffic. Its sights are spread out: the Mingzhu Tower (about 1952) on a hill over Mingzhu Lake, the 'Baiyun Songtao' pine-wave lookout that was one of the city's eight sights in the 1960s, the Huangpo Dong reservoir with a 520 m boardwalk (2024), the tea garden on the old tea-factory site, and two ticketed flower valleys — peach blossom in early spring, plum in winter. The West Gate is open 24 hours and has the C-line shuttle (¥10) to Mingzhu Tower, from where the B line (¥20) climbs to the summit hub.

Paying on site
West Gate window (¥5) → C-line shuttle (¥10) or walk 3 km to Mingzhu Tower → B-line shuttle (¥20) via Dangxiong Pavilion to Huanghe Shi Guangchang → D-line (¥10) to Moxing Ridge; or reverse it and come out of the West Gate at the end of a south-to-north traverse.
Beat the crowds
The plum valley in January-February and the peach valley in late February-March are the only crowds this side sees; the rest of the year the C-line shuttle and the reservoir boardwalk are locals' territory.
Language
Bilingual road signs; the shuttle stops and the flower-valley notices are Chinese.
