The other half of the Nanyue King Museum, two blocks from Beijing Road: the excavated garden of the Nanyue palace (2nd century BC) with its stone pool and winding stone channel, under a roof, plus the layers of every government seat that sat on the same spot for 2,000 years — thirteen historical periods stacked in one cut. Free, but real-name booked on WeChat; overseas visitors get a QR code instead of the ID-card gate. In at the east gate on Zhongshan 4th Road, out at the west gate on Beijing Road — it is a one-way walk that ends on the pedestrian street.
