Taikoo Wharf

Butterfield & Swire's 1904 godowns on the Pearl River's back channel — three T-shaped concrete piers and seven brick warehouses, 321 m of original quay — worked as a cargo wharf until the last ship left in June 2007, and was then restored by the port company as a riverside strip of bars, restaurants, a wine centre and a cinema. It faces west over the water, which is why Haizhu's government calls it 'Guangzhou's sunset boulevard'. Free to walk, open all day, a AAA scenic spot since 2015; the venues keep their own hours.
