Deji Art Museum
A private museum on the eighth floor of a shopping mall at Xinjiekou, which sounds like a compromise and is not one. Founded by the Deji Group and open to the public since 2017, it holds nearly thirty years of collecting - Chinese ceramics, calligraphy and painting, Buddhist sculpture, classical furniture, and Chinese and international modern and contemporary art - and programmes exhibitions that treat Nanjing's own history as a subject rather than a backdrop. Its best-known piece of work is a digital reconstruction of the Qing scroll Jinling Tu, the painting that shows the city street by street.
No booking for a full-price ticket (free-admission visitors do have to book); tickets are sold at the museum's own counter on the eighth floor, which takes foreign cards, WeChat, Alipay and cashVerified · 2026-09Source ↗
No ID rule is published for standard entry. Free-admission visitors (under 3, 70 and over, disabled) must book first, then take the reservation QR code and their own valid ID to the service counter on the eighth floor to activate it and swap it for a paper ticket; a full-price ticket needs no ID
Buy at the service counter on 8F of Deji Plaza phase two on the day; UnionPay and foreign cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners), WeChat, Alipay and cash are all taken. The museum's WeChat official account and domestic ticketing platforms are a second route, not the only one
