Three governments used the same compound on Changjiang Road, and the museum keeps all three: the Qing viceroys of Liangjiang had their offices here, the Taiping king Hong Xiuquan built his palace on the site in 1853, and from 1912 it housed the Republic of China — Sun Yat-sen was sworn in as provisional president here on 1 January 1912, and the Nationalist government sat here until April 1949. What you walk through is less a palace than a campus of late-Qing and Republican office buildings around a garden with a lake. ¥35, sold only as timed real-name tickets on the 南京总统府 WeChat mini-program; closed Mondays.
EntranceMetro Lines 2 and 3 Daxinggong station, Exit 5, then about 250 m along Changjiang Road to No. 288 — the visitor entrance since 17 December 2024, about 100 m west of the old gate tower and right beside the 1912 block. The gate tower itself is No. 292: same compound, a second address, and no longer a way in.
