Ming Tombs · Dingling
The one Ming tomb you can go down into: Dingling, the tomb of the Wanli emperor (r. 1572-1620), was excavated in 1956-58 and its underground palace — five stone chambers 27 m down, empty thrones, replica coffins — is open. The finds are in the museum above ground.
