Western China's first geology-led natural-science museum, opened for trial operation on 23 November 2022 beside the University of Technology's campus: six halls of Sichuan dinosaurs (the Hechuan Mamenchisaurus among them), minerals, earthquakes and life's origins inside a building shaped like a range of 'Shu mountains' joined by skybridges. Ticketed and real-name, closed Mondays, with a passport named as accepted for booking and at the door in the museum's 2023 rules (carried by the local listing; the December 2025 notice just says 'valid ID') — the rare Chengdu museum to have said so. Metro Line 8 to the gate.

ID details
Real-name entry; passport handling is unconfirmed. Real-name: 'all visitors must present their own valid identity document' to buy and to enter (museum notice, Dec 2025); the 2023 rules as relayed by a listing name the passport among accepted documents — the 2025 notice does not spell it out
Beat the crowds
School-holiday afternoons and weekend mornings fill the dinosaur halls; the museum caps 2,000 inside at once and visitors queue at the door once it is reached. A weekday at opening is empty.
Language
Hall labels bilingual for the main exhibits (platform photos); audio guide and tours in Chinese (a paid guide service exists — details on the museum's WeChat official account). Museum phone 028-60828500 (official site footer).
