Mount Qingcheng, front mountain
One of the birthplaces of religious Taoism (Zhang Daoling founded his movement here in the 2nd century) and the 'green' World Heritage half of the Dujiangyan listing: a forested climb of stone stairs past working temples (Jianfu Palace at the gate, Tianshi Cave where the founder is said to have preached, Shangqing Palace near the top), with a lake boat and a cable car to shorten it. Real-name ticket, cable car and boat extra; roughly four hours up and down on foot, two with the lift. The station named Qingcheng Mountain is 5 km from the gate, a bus or taxi hop.
Same channels as Dujiangyan: 'Qingchengshan Dujiangyan' / 'Yueyou Dujiangyan' WeChat, Meituan / Ctrip, Trip.com in English (portal link), or the on-site window; cable car and boat tickets sold on siteVerified · 2026-09Source ↗
Real-name entry; passport holders use the staffed window. Real-name; foreign passport or residence permit through the staffed lane, or buy at the window with it (official portal, same rule as Dujiangyan)
On weekend and holiday mornings expect an hour's queue for the cable car; go up on foot early (gate opens 8:00 in summer by the portal, 8:30 by the platform) and ride down, or come on a weekday. Rain is common — the stairs are stone and slick.
Bilingual trail signage; temples are Chinese-only; no English audio guide published.
