The 12-hectare formal garden at the foot of the mountain's south face, opened in 1995 and run by the Baiyun Mountain management bureau: a glass conservatory, a Roman colonnade, a rose garden, a cascade, and a row of gifts from Guangzhou's sister cities (a Swedish cabin, an Auckland fountain, a Los Angeles street sign). It is the city's flower-show venue — the Spring Festival tulip show (mid-February to early March; 100,000 tulips of 33 varieties in 2026) and the Mid-Autumn lantern show are the two dates that fill it. ¥10, separate from the mountain, with its own metro station (Line 11 Yuntai Garden) right outside; the cable car's lower station is on its east side, so most people do the garden and the mountain in one go.

Beat the crowds
The two shows — tulips mid-February to early March and lanterns around Mid-Autumn — bring queues at the gate on weekends; a weekday morning in either show is the way in.
Language
Plant labels are Chinese with Latin names; the sister-city gifts have bilingual plaques.
