The pavilion teahouse in the middle of the Yu Garden pond, reached by the zigzag Nine-Bend Bridge — the oldest teahouse in Shanghai and the single most photographed scene in the Old City. Reopened in July 2025 after a two-year restoration (official sources give 10 or 11 July); the ground floor serves set tea-and-snack sittings, the upper floor is a pricier tea-ceremony room.

Beat the crowds
The Nine-Bend Bridge is the most crowded bridge in the city. During the Lantern Festival weeks (late January to early March) Huangpu police run one-way flow, batch release and snake queues — confirmed in operation for 2026 — and in 2024 the posted sign read '180 minutes to get on the bridge'. On Lunar New Year's Eve the lantern display stays dark. You only get an empty bridge before 8 am on weekdays.
Language
At the July 2025 reopening the teahouse said it had brought in several tea masters who speak foreign languages for the overseas groups it expected (Jiefang Daily via the city government site, July 2025 — media); menu and signage languages not stated
