Did you know
- The four giant Corinthian columns rising through floors three to five — balconies and stone balustrades between them — were the face of British Shanghai in the 1920s; cross the street for the full elevation.
- Originally six storeys; two more were added in 1983 — you can spot the material break above the colonnade (the rooftop bar's '9th floor' billing is the venue's own numbering).
- In the TV drama 'Blossoms Shanghai' this is the foreign-trade building where Miss Wang works — the old lift and staircase were shot on location (it really was the Shanghai Foreign Trade Bureau after 1955), though most office interiors were studio recreations.
