A dense Ming-dynasty classical garden of rockeries, ponds and zigzag corridors hidden inside the old walled town — the ticketed garden itself, not to be confused with the free shopping bazaar that surrounds it and borrows its name.

Admission¥40 peak season (Apr–Jun, Sep–Nov) / ¥30 off-season (Jul–Aug, Dec–Mar); students and seniors half price
ClosedMonday (open on public-holiday Mondays)
How to book

Online real-name booking supports passports — official 豫园 mini-program and major OTAs including Trip.com; show the passport you booked with at the gate. Walk-up purchase at the ticket window also works outside national holidays.

Beat the crowds

Hours are 9:00–16:30 with last entry at 16:00. Enter at opening or after 15:00; tour groups own the middle of the day. The garden is small — 60 to 90 minutes is enough.

Good to know

  • The garden entrance is inside the bazaar and poorly signed — follow signs for 豫园 (the garden), not 豫园商城 (the mall).
  • Combine with the City God Temple next door; they are separate tickets and separate entrances.
  • Around Chinese New Year the garden area runs the ticketed Yuyuan Lantern Festival with separate, higher pricing — check current notices if visiting January–early March.
  • The surrounding bazaar is busiest exactly when the garden is calmest (midday shopping hours) — flip the usual order: garden first, bazaar after.
