Futian Station
A high-speed railway station buried three levels under the middle of the CBD, with nothing above it but Shennan Boulevard. The National Railway Administration calls it China's first and Asia's largest fully underground high-speed station in a city centre: 1,023 m long, 32.2 m deep on average, 78.86 m at its widest, four island platforms and eight tracks, 21 entrances, 151,000 sqm. What it is actually for, if you are coming from Hong Kong, is the fourteen minutes to West Kowloon - one of the fastest ways between the two cities.
Train tickets on 12306 or at the station; no booking for the station itselfSecondhand source
Passport required; complete identity verification before travel. Passport, for both the ticket and the gate; cross-border trains also need whatever visa or visa-free basis Hong Kong and the mainland each require
12306 or the B1 counters and machines. For the metro, tap a Visa/Mastercard/Amex/JCB/UnionPay card on the gate - every Shenzhen Metro gate has taken foreign cards since 10 September 2026 (city transport bureau).
At the West Kowloon end, the passenger information desk is on B2 south of the arrivals hall in front of the mainland departure inspection area, and handles lost-property enquiries (port office); its hours are not published.
