The other Shenzhen Museum, and the one with objects rather than a narrative: ceramics, bronzes and seals in 3,900 sqm of galleries, in a 1988 building next to the municipal party committee and Lychee Park that the city later listed among its ten historic buildings of the reform era. Free, and booking-free since 12 July 2024. For a visitor working through a city that mostly has nothing older than itself, this is where the old things are - the permanent shows are a ceramics survey, a bronze survey and the Shang Chengzuo seal collection, all drawn from the museum's own holdings, plus a rolling programme of borrowed exhibitions.
