A walled block of food stalls inside Zhongshan Gate on the east wall, opened in 2014 on the site said to be the Tang minister Wei Zheng's residence, that gathers regional Shaanxi food (Tongguan roujiamo, Qishan noodles, Chengcheng lamb soup, Shaanbei pancakes) under one 'intangible heritage' banner. It went viral in 2018 for the ¥5 'smash-the-bowl wine' (drink a cup of sweet rice wine, throw the bowl on the pile), which still queues at holidays. Free to enter and pay per stall; unlike the Muslim Quarter, pork is on the menu here.

Language
Stall signs are Chinese with pictures; names of the regional dishes are the useful vocabulary — 潼关肉夹馍, 岐山臊子面, 澄城水盆羊肉.
