Two blocks of former electronics and furniture factories on either side of Enping Street, kept rather than cleared, and now the one part of this district that costs nothing and was not designed for tourists. The park's own directory lists 43 art spaces and shops, 21 restaurants and bars, and 17 design and cultural firms inside it - among them URBANUS, the practice that converted the buildings, Istituto Marangoni's Shenzhen campus, and the Shenzhen studios of Snohetta and Studio Fuksas. That is the concrete version of the claim that this is a design district rather than a themed one.

Language
Almost everything here is signed by building code rather than name. The park's own directory carries English names for most venues, which is the most reliable way to match a shop to a door.
