The original cable car (1996) from the Wafeng valley on the mountain's north side up to the North Peak in about 8 minutes — shorter, cheaper (platform listings around ¥80) and busier than the West line, and the standard way down at the end of a West-up day. It lands you at the North Peak (1,600 m), which is the bottom of the summit ridge, not the top: going up this way means another 2 hours of stairs to the South and East Peaks. Same hours as the West line; same weather stops.
