The route that fits the mountain into a day: up the West Peak cable car, then on foot along the summit ridge — West Peak (2,083 m), South Peak (2,155 m, the top, with the plank walk off its side), East Peak (the sunrise terrace and the Yaozi Fanshen), Middle Peak, and down the 'Sky Ladder' stairs to the North Peak (1,614 m) and its cable car. Five to six hours of stone steps, chains and views; no extra ticket beyond the two cable cars and the entry — the ridge is the mountain. The arithmetic that matters: on the ridge by 8:30, off the North Peak by 17:00, and the plank-walk queue is the only thing that breaks it (the plank walk is suspended from 15 September 2026; see tips).

Nothing extra to buy for the loop itself: entry + West line shuttle + West Peak cable up; walk; North Peak cable down + North line shuttle back.
Beat the crowds
Walk it clockwise (West → South → East → Middle → North): the crowd from the West Peak cable car moves the same way, but the ridge spreads it out, and the North Peak descent queue is shortest before 15:00.
